The RTV-5 requires three wires for basic operation, power, ground and ignition sense:
The red wire (power) should be directly wired to a constant 8-16V power source found at the key source or fuse panel. This must be a constant power source.
The black wire (ground) should be securely fastened to a grounded screw or to a chasis ground.
The white wire (ignition) is the ignition event wirethat is best installed directly to the igntion wire off the steering column. You must ensure that power is available to the igntion wire ONLY when the vehicle ignition is turned on.
The green, brown and yellow wires (outputs) can be used to honk vehicle's horn, unlick doors, and enable/disable the starter.
The bluem orange, purple and grey wires (input) can be used to monitor many functions such as PTO activity, emergency lights, panic switch, etc.
RTV5 LED STATUS Lights:
After wiring the unit and prior to securing under the dash, make sure the device is showing a SOLID GREEN light and a blinking orange light that goes solid for 1 second than repeats the blinking pattern.
