The PT-8100 LTE is programmed to update its location every 10 seconds
when moving. When stopped the device goes to sleep to conserve battery.

Battery Life of Live Trac PT-8100 GPS Tracker
The Live Trac PT-8100 is equipped with a robust 2600 mAh internal battery. To provide you with the most accurate location tracking while ensuring battery efficiency, the device is programmed in the following manner:
When in motion:
The device reports its location every 10 seconds.
When stationary:
The device conserves battery life by reporting its location once every 8 hours.
Battery Lifespan in Different Scenarios:
Based on extensive testing and calculations:
Continuous motion:
If the PT-8100 is continuously on the move, the battery will last for approximately 10 hours, transmitting its location every 10 seconds.
Usage examples:
Driving for 30 minutes a day: The battery will be used for 30 minutes of in-motion reporting, and for the remaining 23.5 hours, it will be in conservation mode. This means it will last 20 days before needing a recharge.
Driving for 60 minutes (1 hour) a day: With 1 hour of in-motion reporting and 23 hours in stationary mode, the battery will also last 10 days.
Driving for 2 hours a day: The battery will report for 2 hours in motion and 22 hours in stationary mode. Even with this extended driving time, you'll still get 5 days of usage before needing to charge.
Please note that battery life can be affected by external factors such as temperature, signal strength, and the age of the device. Always ensure your device is fully charged before long trips or periods of essential tracking.
